Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 At camp we teach “if you don’t want to get pushed into the river, stay two steps away from the edge.” There is a line that separates everything we do. It separates the wise from the unwise. Yet, too many of us walk the edge and the ledge of that line trying to see how close we can get before we have to face the consequences of our decisions. It seems most of us walk that line to demonstrate our independence and the thrill of the appearance of being in control. God tells us, there is even a greater thrill. Our full and rich life along with the potential within us is not developed when we walk that line. Instead we need to get in line with His will and desire for us. And to be in line with God we must make wise, insightful decisions. We do that when we keep our feet on the sold bank of his word and at least two step closer to His will than the waters of Self Indulgent Nature. (SIN) When we fail to do that, we can end up spending an insane amount of time cleaning up after having fallen into the river of regret. The best way to avoid falling into the river of regret; is to stay two steps away from the banks edge. Step 1: What does God’s word say? Step 2: Based on my past experiences and looking at my life today, what is the best choice for my future? When you are purposeful about your decision making process, you will gain the insight needed to transform your life into all that God has in store for you.
